About the vacancy
As a window frame fitter, you are responsible for the professional dismantling, installation, finishing and maintenance of window frames, windows and doors in new-build and renovation projects. This physical and technical profession requires precision to ensure perfect insulation, security and a neat appearance of a building.
The daily tasks consist of:
-Measuring and preparation: Checking measurements on site and reading technical drawings.
-Demolition and dismantling: Removing old, existing window frames, doors, fronts and glass without damaging the walls.
-Installing subframes: Fitting the wooden or plastic subframes in which the final window frame rests.
-Installing window frames: Leveling and anchoring plastic, aluminium or wooden window frames.
-Glazing: Installing (often heavy) insulating glass, such as HR++ or triple glazing, including glazing beads and rubber seals.
-Interior and exterior finishing: Sealing joints, insulating with PUR foam, and installing windowsills, skirting boards, flashings or window sills.
-Locks and hinges: Installing and perfectly adjusting locks, hinges, handles and draft strips.
